Martin Graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor Michigan with a major in art history and foreign languages. She also studied at the University of the Americas in Mexico City and at Syracuse University at Florence Italy.

In 1968, Pamela traveled extensively representing the United States as Miss Teen USA.

Pamela started out in her career as a model in Detroit. She then worked on various political campaigns as well as worked in a theater company. She was also an assistant curator in an art gallery before she started her career in television.

Her first job in broadcasting was with CHEK TV in Victoria in 1975 where she co-hosted a program called Daybreak, covering the arts and politics of Vancouver Island. She eventually worked in the newsroom as a freelance reporter.

Pamela moved to Vancouver to join CKNW in 1976 where she was their first female beat reporter. Later that year, she anchored a newscast for Habitat, the U.N. Conference on Human Settlements, held in Vancouver.

Her next career move was to BCTV as a news reporter. A year later she began anchoring the Weekend News Hour as well as producing and anchoring the Weekend News Hour Final. In 1993, Pamela became the Early News anchor. In 2001 she joined Bill Good at CTV as a supper time co-host/anchor.

Pamela works extensively with a number of charitable organizations. She has been the honourary chair of the Canadian Cancer Society Campaign since 1998. In her capacity as honourary chair Pamela has traveled throughout B.C. and the Yukon. Pamela supports the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, B.C. branch, the Variety Club and the United Way. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Film Festival for over a decade.

Pamela has a great passion for skiing, with skin diving coming in a very close second. She likes to spend her weekends hiking and mountain biking with her children as well as playing golf and tennis
