Allan Klenman

 

 



 

 

 

From a pioneering family that founded Wapella, Saskatchewan, Allan Abraham Klenman was born in Vancouver on October 3, 1920.  Klenman, broadcaster, account salesman and realtor has authored a number of books mainly while retired on Vancouver Island.

 

He grew up in B.C. Klenman was also instrumental in acquiring the Leonard Frank photography archive for the Jewish Historical Society. This led to the publication of two coffee table books pertaining to Frank and his work.

 

 Klenman is best known for his book "Axemakers of North America", “Axes Made, Found or Sold in Canada”,

and

“BC Centennial Medal 1858-1958”

The Klenman Collection consists of material accumulated by

Mr. Klenman in the course of his sales career with several  radio stations, including

CKNW, CKWX, CKMO and CKDA. 

 

The

collection includes rate cards, staff newsletters, station

publications, promotional materials, correspondence and accounts
